A Practical Environmentalist.

Jim Lattimore is a practical environmentalist, bringing more than 45 years of frontline experience in engineering, transportation, construction, renewable energy and environmental services to his own business interests as well as in his role as a consultant where he offers government agencies and businesses seeking his leadership, technical background, and expertise to pursue new initiatives, achieve financial objectives, and conform to regulatory requirements.

Having served both privately-held and large publicly-traded companies as a high-ranking executive, Jim has a proven history in operations, strategic business development, turnarounds, acquisitions and divestitures as well as startups and commercialization of technology. Jim’s technical background contributes to his ability to solve complex issues while translating them into business plans and actions. He consistently achieves double-digit increases in profitability year-over-year while significantly increasing customer satisfaction and maintaining an emphasis on conservation of natural resources.

From overseeing large construction and infrastructure projects to permitting landfills, incinerators, landfill gas-to-energy plants and transfer stations to operating solid waste hauling and landfill companies to dealing with hazardous, medical, special and municipal waste, Jim has done it all successfully. Examples include:

  • Responsibilities for building state-of-the-art landfills and infrastructure associated with them. Jim has served as operating and project manager for major expansion and greenfield sites.

  • Responsibilities for troubleshooting environmental problems and bringing facilities back into compliance.

  • Responsibilities for establishing new operations, recycling and disposal operations in Mexico for an international company.  He successfully helped U.S. companies solve their environmental challenges with their maquiladora operations in Mexico.

  • Responsibilities for constructing the first single-stream recycling facility in North Texas and constructing, then managing the first landfill gas-to-energy plant in Texas.

A family legacy in oil and gas and agribusiness cultivated in Jim a love of the land and a commitment to preserving our natural resources and keeping our waters pure.  Jim currently serves on the Brazos River Authority Board of Directors, appointed by the Governor of Texas; and the University of Texas McDonald Observatory’s Board of Visitors. As the owner and operator of a ranch in Jack County, TX, Jim restored and improved pastures on the property, increasing grazing capacity by 100% as well as managing for game improvement.  These efforts were recognized by the U.S. Conservation Service.  He holds Bachelor of Science, Aerospace Engineering as well as Master of Science, Aerospace Engineering degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
